GREEN MOUNTAIN ENERGY

Green Mountain Energy is a US company that offers clean electricity, sustainable business solutions, and at the same time, initiate carbon offsets. It was founded in the year 1997 in Vermont but had later transferred its headquarters to Austin, Texas. The firm is one of the longest-serving clean energy retailers in America. Up to this day, it is still fully committed to its core mission of conserving the environment by utilizing the power of consumer choice to create a difference by virtue of transforming the way power is generated.

Products

Green Mountain Energy is one of the pioneers in providing clean energy from various renewable sources. The strong demand of the consumers had helped pave the way in the development of currently more than 80 wind farms and solar power plants throughout the United States. This network of facilities represents over 175,000 kilowatts of new renewable energy.

It is good to note though that buying renewable energy does not necessarily mean that the electricity delivered right through the customer’s homes will be coming from the wind and solar power stations. Rather, Green Mountain Energy will replenish the generic electricity used by its clients with cleaner energy that is generated from renewable sources. Nonetheless, the company ensures that every kilowatt-hour is purchased with Renewable Energy Credits or RECs to certify its “greenness”.
